Notes for today: borage gets huge. It’s cool. The bees love it. Note to self: it gets HUGE. Don’t plant it in one unit of a “square foot garden.”
Almost all the cool weather stuff bolted because we had 90+ weather. Gonna try again and see if I can get them going– even though it’s kinda late. Had chard from the garden (cut out the leaf miner damage) tonight with dinner. Tasty. Also pulled a daikon that was sticking out. It had that root damage that I saw last year. I think it’s millipedes.
Released ladybugs, mantis, and lacewings in the yard. Haven’t seen many of any of them. None of the lacewings and mantis. A few ladybugs. There’s lotsa aphids to go around.
Planted a couple of extra beds, since I had the room. One’s got just corn in it. The other has a mix of stuff. I’m not really liking the square foot thing that much. It doesn’t add anything to the way that I normally garden. The little checker pattern looks nice.
