Friddle Sings

June 3rd, 2008 · 4 Comments

Perhaps you remember this post about our new frog, Friddle. You see, Friddle is a lonely frog. He needs someone to share his pond with. And so every night, friddle sings the blues.

I consider this my first (and possibly the world’s shortest) podcast:
MP3 Audio Friddle Sings the Blues (657K MP3)

On a slightly different– though urban livestock related– note, this morning as I went to let out the chickens, I immediately heard someone saying “brrrrrr… brrrrrgak… BRRRRB’GAK!” behind me. I thought how funny it was that sound could reflect in such a way as to make it sound like one of the chickens in the henhouse 30 feet in front of me was behind me under the deck. Funny that.

Or, possibly, I had locked their front door last night but left the back door open.

Seems it was the latter. Ethel, the cruel leader of the gang, had jumped out the back of the henhouse AND over the six foot fence around the coop. I don’t know how she did it or exactly how long she’d been under the deck.

Given the raccoon highway through the backyard, I’m surprised I didn’t find them all splattered around like a horror movie. That she survived outside like that is just amazingly good fortune.

Sorry girls. I’ll try to be more careful.

I love the little podcast! It really made me smile, and I felt like I was right there beside the little frog! So cool! I’m glad your chicken didn’t get eaten after getting out like that… you’re lucky for sure.

Good. My neighbor just came by and said she’s got tadpoles in her pond, so Friddle may get a date yet.

Yeah, I was lucky I didn’t have to explain all the chicken organs on the lawn to the kids.

“Well, when a chicken’s head is removed by a predator, sometimes they leave them on the picnic table, son…”

I only object to the use of the term podcast. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Podcast. Adam Curry’s hair is rolling over in it’s grave!!!!!!
