Had dinner at our friends’ place last night. The blog was a topic of discussion. This friend, let’s call her ‘Amber’ (Hi, Amber!) was surprised at the content of my blog. It seems she expected it to be “mean” or “sarcastic” rather than “cute”. She also told me that another friend had been [...] I’ve been interviewing people again to replace Cedar, my much-missed, nice, articulate, excellent former employee. If you’ve never hired someone, you may be under the impression, as I was when I was a young buck, that everyone’s pretty much equally qualified (with yours truly slightly less than the others) and that any job posting [...] OK, sorry, I digressed there for a bit… gardening, gardening… yeah… so… Calendula are starting to bloom. There’s a bumper crop of squirrels this year. Mmm… squirrel… The potatoes are just starting to flower. That means there’s baby potatoes down there. Mmm… squirrel and potato soup… These cabbages are giganctic, but they’re just starting to head [...] The strawbs are starting to ripen, and this wildlife was seen grazing. Some of them look almost like they know I’m taking the picture. Nature’s crazy. I’ve been seeing goldfinches dining at the hummingbird feeder lately. Don’t know why since there’s at least four water sources including the new froggy fountain. Chuckles would totally eat them if they’d [...] |
