I’m really not into this global economic meltdown thing.
In any case, I already owned my camera and computer, so here ya go…
OK, it’s like… totally… frikkin cold outside. Now, I’m no wussy. I grew up in Hibbing, Minnesota. It is not unusual for the *average* temp. to be 10 degrees F there over the winter. 30 below is not that unusual.
And, here in Portland, Oregon, it’s a mere 15 degrees. ABOVE ZERO! WHOOHOO! And yet… let us call a spade a spade. That is cold. The chickens’ water is frozen (I just put a 250W heatlamp in their henhouse). I tried to drain my rain barrel, but the handle on the valve snapped off in my hand.
Cold is what I’m saying.
So, without further ado:
The Buddha says “what is cold… an illusion of… ahhh!!! I’ve got a snow hat on!!!”
Dottie caught as far out of their box as any of the girls ventured today. “Yeah, uh, no.”
Whoohoo!!! This guy will only wear clothes for very special events. This was one. Chickens are sissies.
Dear birds, please don’t bathe in this. You’ll be sorry.
For you non-Portlanders, a local brewery makes this seasonal ale. While it’s not that great, my leaving it out last night did make for this totally awesome picture.

Thanks all y’all… sorry I’ve been a little incommunicado. Gotta get back on my blogging horse.
Can’t believe I got spammed by my own brother.
Dang. Is that what I did? heh..I had no idea..
I actually thought that one can ‘point’ to something that sort of relates..as in my little schtick also harkens back to the ol’ country. Seriously, is posting a url like that not kosher in blog-ville?
Now wait a minute..I just (being the blog-novice that I am) went to wikipedia to check about spam. It does seem to have some gray matter. Being that my little site is way non-commercial..and that I thought it relevant in the, ‘hey bro- I’m from up north too and looky how at this time of the year we’re both stitching that into our respective post-things-way such that it is okay to do. To be sure, I do tend to want people to spock out my little project, to an extent. Anyway, I’d be curious if your readers, who I gather are a little more cyber-hep than me, would weigh in on such an..event. (Jeez, I’m not spamming right now am I?) Aloha.
So, uh..Darren, any snow falling on your bananas over there in Hawaii, eh?
Shhh..I’m not even sure if I s’posed ta be here..
But, um..I hear it snowed on top of Mauna Kea..
Uhem..but just DON’T GO TO MY SITE! okay?
There’s a history of mental illness in our family.
Hey Darren, you sound like a much cheerier bloke than your Portland bro. lol
I’m going to head over to your site right now.
with muckraking chops like yours, your compost is in good hands, heh
