Reason to Live (and Mason Bees)

Beautiful March day here in Portland. It’s so sunny that my cheeks are turning red. The release box was crawling with bees this morning (the picture doesn’t really do it justice… I think I saw 8-10 of them).

The flowering currants are suddenly on the verge of blooming:

And this little lettuce that spent the whole winter outside in a container is perking up like 10-15 degree nights were no big thing.
