I figure I should get some of the unpleasantries out of the way before I start posting sunny pictures of my perfect children eating fresh, organic produce. Ethel the chicken has ceased to be. Not totally sure about the birth and death dates. Pretty sure she's dead. <irreverant, gross chicken story alert> Ethel had, what we call in [...] Just kidding. On the chicken theme, one of the girls has now decided to go broody. Dottie, the white one, had climbed into the nest box and was refusing to leave. I mean, REALLY refusing. Open the door, and she lets this nasty creaky… uh, hiss? Not sure what you call that noise, but it isn’t [...] Clearly, things have not gotten much better vis-a-vis the time thing. Still, I thought someone out there might be interested to know that I found these in a pile in the henhouse the other day: And being a chump, I’ve been real busy lately. Sorry about that. Also, our remodeled bathroom is almost done. We didn’t get the window ordered in time, and so we’re in a holding pattern until that shows up later, but the rest is just awaiting inspection. Anyway, my yard is a total mess, and I haven’t [...] Phew… thank god that’s over. I had a tarp bungee corded over my coop for the last couple of months, and every time I went outside, I thought I’d died and gone to the Hell of Trucks on Blocks. I don’t even know that I have pictures of it since I was so bummed about [...] |
